Environments for ageing and dementia

The University of Stirling’s ‘Centre for Environment, dementia and ageing’ research team hosted a visit to Broomhill Gardens with researchers from Japan.

The group heard from INCH Director, Lesley Palmer on the age and dementia-friendly design principles which are integral to the design of Broomhill Gardens’ building and gardens. The group also heard from the Client and users of the gardens who described the positive impact the building has had on the local community.

True inclusive environmental design principles involve everyone, of all abilities and ages, and this project is an excellent example of this in practice.
