Working with Clyde Gateway we have developed proposals for flexible, high-quality manufacturing facility, technology and events space at a key riverside location where the Smart Bridge meets Shawfield.
Located on the southern side of the Dalmarnock smart bridge, Technology Terrace will provide 20,000 sq ft of high-quality manufacturing space with an additional 5,000sq ft of flexible event space that can easily be converted in future to high-quality manufacturing space.
As part of a wider masterplan for the area, Technology Terrace will be located at a prominent arrival node in the overall development. The overall form and mass of the building addresses arrival views over the Smart Bridge with corner feature entrance spaces and signage. Horizontal banded and faceted cladding responds to the proposed adjacent buildings and varies over the elevation height, reducing the building mass to human scale at entrances and creating an active edge to the streetscape.
Technology Terrace will provide internal open clear spans for maximum flexibility for future tenants, a haunch height of 6m, and large scale access to the rear full service yard. A mezzanine arrangement is possible for each unit to the street facing side of the building. These can provide office working space and service spaces for each unit, enabling accommodation of entire manufacturing and associated administration functions within a riverside location a short walk from Glasgow City centre.
