Cochrane Park Pavilion

Development of existing WC building into a new park pavilion

Cochrane Park Pavilion | Alva
Alva Development Trust

The Alva Development Trust appointed INCH to explore the opportunity for a new public cafe, visitor information and toilets facility within the town of Alva in Clackmannanshire.

They have identified the vacant pavilion building within the popular Cochrane Park as a suitable location to create a unique vibrant space within the village. The proposal is to provide a cafe space with visitor information which has the potential to create a social hub within the park and to renovate the existing toilet provision for public use.

The concept was to create a space which not only provided public provision but created a focal point within the park. A playful, external structure is proposed to provide a gathering space and as a way of displaying information for visitors and locals alike. The identity of the structure is then continued inside the remodelled building to enhance the link between the cafe and the wider park.
